The Mission of the PEAL Center

The mission of the PEAL Center is to ensure that children, youth, and adults with disabilities lead rich, active lives and participate as full members of their schools and communities by providing training, information, and technical assistance based on best practices to individuals, families and all people who support them.

What services does the PEAL Center offer?

  • Up-to-date disability information
  • Information about the special education process and parents' rights
  • Parent advisors are able to provide information and resources to assist the family with problem-solving strategies, and direct callers to other community resources by telephone, email to parentadvisor@pealcenter.org, or in person by appointment
  • Consultation, customized in-service trainings, curriculum development, in-service presentations and workshops

How does the PEAL Center fund its services?

The PEAL Center receives funding from public and private funders including:

  • Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education
  • Health Resources & Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Welfare
  • Bureau of Special Education, PA Department of Education
  • PA Developmental Disabilities Council
