PEAL CENTER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Director of Outreach – Currently accepting applications

The PEAL Center is seeking a Director of Outreach. This important position is critical to ensuring that the PEAL Center effectively provides access to information and training for  families of children with disabilities.  A primary mission of the PEAL Center is for families to have meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their children at school and at home.   High priority is placed on providing access to underserved families including low-income parents, parents with limited literacy skills, parents of limited English proficient children, and parents with disabilities.

The Director of Outreach is a key member of PEAL team and must:

  • Demonstrate strong and effective communication both in print and in person with experience writing content for newsletters, social media, and websites
  • Demonstrate technical website software skill to design and regularly revise content on the website
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for aesthetic design in print and multi-media
  • Have experience with event planning and fundraising
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills

As a member of the PEAL Center team s/he must have the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and community groups and agencies.

This grant funded position is 25-30 hours per week.  The Director of Outreach works from the Pittsburgh Office.  Parent of children with disabilities and people with disabilities preferred.
