The PEAL Center has received grants from the following organizations to support its work:

The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County grant to support the work of the PEAL Center, 2009.

FISA Foundation grant supports the piloting of Portable Medical Records workshops and the development of a handbook on funding sources for services for children with special health care needs and disabilities, 2009.

Millmont Foundation
grant supported the purchase of technology for use in training activities, 2007.

Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education, Inclusive Practices Projec
t supported the First School Leaders Symposium in 2008 and the Annual PEAL Conferences in 2008 and 2009.

Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council

  • Special Projects Grant provided seed funding for the first PEAL Conference, 2006-2007.
  • Education Rights Grant supports the project in Erie County to increase access to inclusive education in Erie City and Millcreek Township School Districts, 2007-2010.

  Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN)

  • State Improvement Grant that supported the first PEAL Conference, and the development of the PEAL Mini-Series on IEP’s, Middle School Series on Inclusive Education, and the Featured Speaker Series, 2006-2007.
  • State Personnel Development Grant supports the Tiny Fingers Sign Language series for young children and their parents and caregivers, the PEACE Project parent leadership series on school reform, and the School Leaders Symposium on Inclusive Education, 2008-2012.
  • Inclusive Practices Project will support the PEAL Conference in 2010.

PNC Trust grant supports the implement of a PEAL technology upgrade plan including replacement of several computers, staff remote access the PEAL network,  an expanded phone system, and webinar capability for trainings.

U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs
grant supports the Parent Training and Information Center, 2005-2010.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources Services Administration grant supports the Family to Family Health Information Center, 2007-2010.


U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources Services Administration State Implementation Grant subcontract with the American Academy of Pediatrics to support youth with special health care needs and parents in efforts to improve and coordinate healthcare and community services for children with special health care needs.
