Astrid Arroyo and son Kai

Astrid
Astrid Camille Arroyo is a Parent Mentor based in Pittsburgh.  A native of Puerto Rico, Astrid joined the PEAL Center to help bring special education advocacy to Western & Central Pennsylvania’s growing Spanish-speaking population.  Since the older of her two sons was diagnosed with a developmental disability and autism spectrum disorder, Astrid has been active within the local special needs community, volunteering with several organizations and charities and participating in a number of parent support groups.  She and her family reside in Ross Township.

 


Astrid Camille Arroyo es un Padre Mentor basada en Pittsburgh. Nativa de Puerto Rico, Astrid se afilió al Centro de PEAL para ayudar a traer la defensa de educación especial a la creciente población de habla hispana de Pensylvania Occidental y Central.  Desde que el mayor de sus dos hijos fue diagnosticado con un impedimento de desarrollo y  desorden del espectro del Autismo, Astrid ha participado activamente en la comunidad local de necesidades especiales,  sirviendo como voluntaria en varias organizaciones e instituciones benéficas, y participando en una serie de grupos de apoyo para padres. Astrid y su familia residen en el municipio de Ross.
