Sign language for parents and young children is a free course sponsored by the PEAL Center. The class is taught by Kimberly S. Simon for parents, infants, toddlers, and young children, birth to kindergarten, who would like to use another avenue to improve their communication skills. Children must be accompanied by their parent/caregiver. Additional family members, teachers, or therapists are welcome to attend. This sign language class is intended for all children, regardless of their disability label. Dress comfortably since this is a "hands on" class! Wrightslaw Conference: Special Education Law and Advocacy Training that is sponsored by Delco Family PASS. It will be held on October 21, 2010: - with Pete Wright as the speaker. Program Description: One-day special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas- special education law, rights and responsibilities; tests and measurements to measure progress & regression; SMART IEP's & introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy.
