Tiny Fingers to Tiny Voices

Sign language for parents and young children is a free course sponsored by the PEAL Center.  The class is taught by Kimberly S. Simon for parents, infants, toddlers, and young children, birth to kindergarten, who would like to use another avenue to improve their communication skills. Children must be accompanied by their parent/caregiver. Additional family members, teachers, or therapists are welcome to attend. This sign language class is intended for all children, regardless of their disability label. Dress comfortably since this is a "hands on" class!  Classes will be held in Pittsburgh, Freeport, Homestead, Zelienople and Aliquippa.  To register please go to www.pealcenter.org or call 412-281-4404 or toll free 866-950-1040.

MIni-Series on Developing Strong IEP's and Working with School Teams

Part 1: Developing a Strong IEP will be held at:  the Farrell High School in Farrel, PA on Sept. 14th.; Jefferson-Defrees Family Center in Warren, PA on Sept. 16th; Valley High School Auditorium in New Kensington, PA on Oct. 12th (co-sponsered by New Kensington-Arnold SD, Kiski Area SD and Burrell SD); Admin Building in Uniontown on Oct. 7th.
 
Part 2: Working Effectively with Your School Team at:  Farrell High School in Farrel, PA on Sept. 21st; Jefferson-Defrees Family Center in Warren, PA on Sept. 23rd; Huston Middle School Auditorium in New Kensington, PA on Nov. 9th (co-sponsered by New Kensington-Arnold SD, Kiski Area SD and Burrell SD); Fayette County Oct. 14th.

Part 3: IEP Clinic will be held at: Jefferson-Defrees Family Center in Warren, PA on Sept. 30th; Fayette County on Oct. 21st.
