Debbie Efkeman
Debbie
Debbie Efkeman has been a Trainer for the PEAL Center since its inception.  She resides in Hampton Township with her husband and three children.  Her advocacy work and focus on inclusive education is due largely to her school experiences with her daughter.  She has been previously involved with the Family Forum for Children?s Hospital, the Down Syndrome Group of Western PA and the HAPPEN Parent Support Group.  Other activities have included being the Statewide Parent Coordinator for Family and School District Education Project and co-author of the Family Connections Academic Standards Kit.  Debbie is often asked to speak to student in both the educational and medical fields at CCAC, University of Pittsburgh, Carlow University and Duquesne University.  She currently is a member of the Education Mentors of PA and has been a member of the Local Task Force, IU 3, for 20 years.  She received a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Special Education from Loyola College of Baltimore.
