Brenda is the Director of Training for the PEAL Center. Brenda first became aware of the PEAL Center in 2010 when she attended the PEAL Center's annual conference "Building Communities of Peace, Harmony, and Respect." It was while attending the conference that Brenda found the voice she had been searching for to help her support parents as they become empowered to advocate for the best possible education for their children. Using her experiences as a parent, public school special education teacher, early intervention developmental specialist, and a University Instructor, Brenda develops and presents training and information to parents of children with disabilities and to the professionals who support those children. Brenda also provides support to other PEAL Center staff in developing and delivering trainings. Brenda has degrees in both Elementary Education and Special Education. In 2013, she completed a Doctorate of Curriculum and Instruction at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where her completed dissertation was on the topic of early intervention.
