PACEC and PEAL Conference: Advocating Equity for All Learners
Friday, October 9th, 2020
The Parent Education and Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center is collaborating with The Pennsylvania Council for Exceptional Children (PACEC) to present a virtual conference focused on equity for individuals with diverse abilities. PACEC and PEAL share a commitment to education and empowering youth and young adults with diverse abilities and their families.
This event will provide families and education professionals opportunities to connect with experts and collaborate – with a focus on high quality, evidence-based educational practices.
The impact of COVID-19 has been magnified for individuals with disabilities and/or special health care needs. The challenges of distance learning have been especially difficult for students with disabilities, their teachers, and their families.
Strategies for strong educational outcomes during this unprecedented time will be interwoven throughout the conference presentations. While entering a school year filled with uncertainty, the conference provides a venue to learn about current best practices, locate resources, and share ideas.
The 2020 conference features two keynote speakers! Additional sessions include presentations from The PEAL Center, PATTAN, and experts in the field of special education from across the state of Pennsylvania.
