Tanya Manning-Yarde

Tanya Manning-Yarde, PhD, is the mother of a 10-year-old boy who has Autism Spectrum Disorder and speech delay. She is a freelance editor and writer. She is the editor of both creative nonfiction and fiction for Raising Mothers, A Literary Journal. Tanya taught high school Language Arts, and worked as an assistant professor, instructional coach, and educational consultant after receiving her doctorate. Her work has been published in several places including the Huffington Post. In 2017, she published Every Watering Word, her first book of poetry.

Currently, Tanya has written several children’s book manuscripts and a middle-grade novel based on her son’s experiences, with main characters who are both ethnically diverse and neurodiverse. She produces the “Father.Son.Galaxy.” family podcast and YouTube channel. It includes a special segment called “Storytime with Maceo” that focuses on modeling for families reading aloud to promote literacy with neurodiverse children.
